New Product Trial | More Convenient and Efficient IL-15 NK Cell Expansion Reagent (Stromal Cells)
Immunotherapy is currently one of the most promising approaches for cancer treatment, with natural killer (NK) cells emerging as particularly promising effector cells. Immune cells are broadly categorized into adaptive and innate components. Innovative therapeutics targeting adaptive immune cells include cytotoxic T lymphocytes (CTLs), tumor-infiltrating lymphocytes (TILs), chimeric antigen receptor T cells (CAR-T cells), and T-cell receptors engineered T cells (TCR-T cells). Among these, CAR-T therapy is currently the most actively pursued modality; however, following CAR-T cell infusion, patients may experience two major severe adverse effects: cytokine release syndrome and neurotoxicity. Although CAR-T therapy achieves high rates of complete remission, it is associated with immune cell exhaustion, which can lead to disease relapse, and its efficacy against solid tumors remains limited due to off-target effects.

Little “Life” Makes Sense (V) | The Immune Scavenger—Macrophages
Macrophages are white blood cells residing in tissues, derived from monocytes, which in turn originate from precursor cells in the bone marrow. Both macrophages and monocytes are phagocytic cells that participate in both non-specific defense (innate immunity) and specific defense (cell-mediated immunity) within the body. Their primary functions include phagocytosing cellular debris and pathogens—either as tissue-resident or circulating cells—and activating lymphocytes and other immune cells to mount a response against these pathogens.

Issue 1 | Sharing of CAR Positive Rate Testing Data
In 2010, two patients with hematologic malignancies became the first participants in a clinical trial of CAR-T cell therapy at the Perelman School of Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania, and their cancers achieved complete remission that same year. More than a decade later, research published in Nature and based on up to 10 years of follow-up data indicate that CAR-T cells can still be detected in patients’ bodies 10 years after infusion. Owing to their high selectivity, localized high concentrations, and customizable nature, cell therapies have ushered in a new chapter in cancer immunotherapy.
